Raising Children under Emergency Situations “Mental Care”

Children, like adults, are anxious. Please share your feelings together and make your child secured.

○ Your child might act childish like demanding attention, being selfish, bed-wetting, etc. Please support him/her with patience rather than scolding him/her or pushing him/her away.
○ Child would feel secured, when you hug him/her, talk to him/her with kind words, or play with him/her.
○ Feeling that he/she is being helpful to people would make him/her feel positive. Please let him/her help something that are not so hard.
○ Child might ask you the same thing over and over due to anxiety. Please try your best to answer his/her question every time.

For Children with Development Disorder

○ You are not alone. Talk to a person that you can rely on, about your child.
○ If he/she talks to himself/herself or raise a weird cry, let him/her speak in a loud voice during daytime where people won’t be annoyed. That way, he/she might be able to tell difference between the place where he/she can raise voice and place that he/she cannot.
○ There might be behavior like raising weird cry, or walking around at night. Take a walk with him/her, or watch over for a while, then he/she will calm down.
