Temporary compensation payment from The Tokyo Electric Power Company

On April 15th, The Tokyo Electric Power Company announced that they will pay temporary compensation payments to those who have been forced to evacuate due to the accident of the nuclear power plants.

The people who will be able to receive the payments are those who live/lived in the area around the nuclear power plant and were forced to evacuate or still refuge inside. These areas include Minami Sōma-shi, Iitate-mura, Namie-machi, Futaba-machi, Ōkuma-machi, Tomioka-machi, Naraha-machi, Hirono-machi, Katsurao-mura, Kawauchi-mura, Tamura-shi and Iwaki-shi. Each household will receive 1 million yen, and those living alone will receive 750 thousand yen.

In the near future, there will be explanatory meetings held at various evacuation centers, and application forms will be handed out as well. Exclusive consulting centers are expected to open from April 28th.
